David Falk, the man behind Michael Jordan. Falk is most famously known for representing MJ, arguable the best player to ever play the game of basketball. But he isn't just known for negotiating Jordan’s contract. David Falk showed his skill in endorsement dealings. Have you heard of Air Jordans? Go thank David Falk for that. “I wanted to get him his own line of shoes and apparel. Nobody had that in basketball at the time. In the middle of a meeting with Nike, I had a brainstorm about what the line should be called and said, ‘What about Air Jordan?’ ”-David Falk. Falk changed the game with Michael and made his way to being the top agent in the business, but he was also good with
contracts too. It is said that Falk changed the entire salary structure of the NBA “overnight.” This is because in 1996, six of his clients enter the free agency, and in a six day period, Falk negotiated over $400 million. Falk is also credited with negotiating sports first $100 million contract for Alonzo Mourning. Falk is keen on keeping a good, close, honest relationship with his clients. In 1998 he sold his company FAME because he did not enjoy having so many clients. He is now quote on quote retired because he only has nine current clients.
