Day 1: Luang Prabang Day 1: Vientiane Day 1: Chiang Rai - Houei Xay
Arrive in Luang Prabang and transfer to your
hotel. After, set out to explore this peaceful
city with little traffic and orange robed monks
walking the streets. Visit the former royal
palace, now a national museum and Mt. Phousi
with panoramic views over the city. End the day
with a visit to Xieng Thong Temple followed by
sunset at Wat Phabat Tai Monastery. Arrive in Vientiane and transfer to your hotel.
In the afternoon enjoy a city tour visiting the
main sites finishing with sunset at Chao Anou
Park located along the beautiful Mekong
River. Depart from Chiang Rai (Thailand) and drive
to Chiang Khong before crossing the Mekong
River and entering Laos at the small township
of Houei Xay.
Day 2: Luang Prabang (B, L)
This morning visit a riverside village where rice
wine is produced before taking a boat trip on
the mighty Mekong River to visit Pak Ou Caves.
Thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues
are crammed into the two caves carved out of
the towering limestone cliff. In the afternoon,
visit the Kwang Si Waterfall for a short trek
around the falls or enjoy a swim.
Day 3: Luang Prabang (B, D)
Spend the day at leisure and enjoy the
atmosphere of this magnificent town, its temples
and markets. This evening, embark on the Nava
Mekong Cruise. Moor near a traditional village
where traditional Lao dancers perform age-old
sets. Enjoy the history and unique theatrical
dining experience on board.
Day 4: Luang Prabang - Vientiane (B)
This morning a unique opportunity abounds
with an optional Alms offering to the local
monks. After breakfast, transfer to Luang
Prabang Airport for a flight to Vientiane.
Transfer to your hotel before commencing a
city sightseeing tour. Visit That Luang Stupa,
Pratuxai, Thong Khan Kham Market amd the
COPE Visitor Centre.
Day 5: Vientiane (B)
Today, transfer to Vientiane Airport where
tour arrangements end.
Day 2: Vientiane - Vang Vieng (B)
Day 2: Houei Xay - Pakbeng (B, L)
This morning, drive through to Vang Vieng
stopping at Km52 Hmong Village before
proceeding to Ban Tha Heu – a fisherman’s
village. On arrival in Vang Vieng take in the
scenery and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Travel by a traditional slow boat down the
Mekong River to Pakbeng. In Northern Laos, the
Mekong River shows a pathway full of splendid
landscapes and a succession of mountains
covered by lush vegetation with villages along
the banks.
Day 3: Vang Vieng - Xieng Khuang (B) Day 3: Pakbeng - Luang Prabang (B, L)
Today drive to Xieng Khuang. Make pit stops
at Phu Khoune and Tham Pha (Buddha Cave)
and witness beautiful scenery as you pass many
panoramic lookouts on the winding mountain
roads. Today, continue by boat downstream towards
Luang Prabang. A stop is made at Pak Ou
Caves. Late afternoon, arrive in Luang Prabang.
Day 4: Xieng Khuang (B)
Visit the Plain of Jars this morning. A
distinctive and enigmatic attraction for Laos,
shrouded in mystery, giant stone jars are
scattered in the Xieng Khuang plateau.
After exploring this area, visit a Mulberry farm
which specialises in the production of naturally
dyed handmade Lao silk, and the Xieng Khuang
UXO Centre.
Day 4: Luang Prabang (B)
For those who wish, an early start this
morning and you can be involved in an Alms
offering to the local monks. After breakfast,
travel to Kwang Si Waterfall with brief stops en-
route at the villages of Ban Xang Khong and
Ban Xieng Lek.
Day 5: Luang Prabang (B)
Spend the day at leisure.
Day 6: Luang Prabang - Vientiane (B)
Today admire the beautiful scenery as you drive
near seven hours on to Luang Prabang. Scenic
stops on the drive include Kiaw Kamporm, Huay
Hien, Nam Ming Bridge and Kiaw Mouang. This morning, transfer to Luang Prabang
Airport a flight to Vientiane. Transfer to your
hotel stopping on the way for sightseeing at That
Luang Stupa, Pratuxai, Phon Thong Savang
Market and the COPE Visitor Centre.
Day 6: Luang Prabang (B) Day 7: Vientiane (B, L, D)
Early morning, participate in an Alms offering
to the lo cal monks - the monks from the town will
gather to collect your offerings. After breakfast,
travel by wooden boat upstream to see the Pak
Ou Caves. In the afternoon enjoy a city tour with
the evening spent at leisure. This morning travel to Buddha Park where
200 Buddhist and religious images are
displayed. Continue on to Nam Ngum River for
a private lunch cruise. Returning to Vientiane,
make a short stop at Dong Mak Khai Market.
Tonight, end your visit to Laos with a traditional
Lao dinner and show.
Day 5: Xieng Khuang - Luang Prabang (B)
Day 7: Luang Prabang (B)
This morning further explore Luang Prabang
before transferring to Luang Prabang Airport
where tour arrangements end.
