Los Angeles
If feet could talk, yours would be complaining right now. They’ve traipsed up
and down the boulevards of Hollywood and through the exclusive boutiques of
Rodeo Drive, taken you on scary roller coasters at Universal Studios, and the day
before that they hit Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade for some serious retail
therapy and the famous pier to shop for tacky souvenirs. Tomorrow? Exploring
the majestic Queen Mary, once the pride of the Cunard Line but now a hotel based
at Long Beach. Then off to Orange County’s Newport Beach for a little relaxation
and some window shopping at Fashion Island with brands like Juicy Couture and
Victoria’s Secret. But your feet will get a break while you sample a famous fish taco
from Wahoo’s. What a trip – poor feet, lucky you.
Our favourite things to see and do
Shopping – Spend a day in West Hollywood at the Farmer’s
Market and in Beverly Hills at the Beverly Centre. Shop with
the stars on Rodeo Drive or take a wander down Third Street
Promenade in Santa Monica.
Santa Monica – People watch, visit the local weekend
markets, explore the wooden pier, hire bikes and cycle the
35 kilometre oceanfront boardwalk from Santa Monica to
Redondo. Have your picture taken at the end of the famous
Route 66.
Getty Museum – Is free to enter and has a priceless
collection of art. It’s bursting with an extensive collection of
antiquities, paintings, drawings, sculpture and 19th and 20th
century American and European photographs.
Hit the Beach – Check out the famous beach spots of
Santa Monica, Malibu, Venice and Marina Del Rey. Explore
the shops, cafés and restaurants while soaking up some sun.
Hiking Runyon Canyon – For some amazing views
over the city of Los Angeles head to where the celebs love to
hike – Runyon Canyon. It’s a 160 acre park with a number of
different hiking trails available.

Downtown Los Angeles – Dotted with museums,
beautiful historic buildings and plenty of bars and
restaurants. Some things to check out are a basketball game
at the Staples Centre, the historic Bradbury Building, the
ultra modern Walt Disney Concert Hall and the tasty treats
at the Grand Central Market.
The Broad – This brand new downtown LA gallery opened
in 2016 and is home to nearly 2,000 works of art from Eli &
Edith Broad’s personal collection and is the most prominent
collection of post-war art in the world.
