enjoy this independent tour that includes must-see places along the way.
Along the Big Sur to Hearst Castle and from Monterey to San Francisco
you’ll have a knowledgeable guide on tour and for the rest of your trip,
sit back and relax on the AMTRAK Coast Starlight train. Arches, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon and Zion. These are
the five breath-taking national parks that make up the Utah Mighty 5 ® .
Experience them all on the guided tour across southern Utah. Enjoy
hiking amongst stunning natural monuments and don’t forget your
camera for once in a lifetime photos.
Day 1: Anaheim or Los Angeles – San Luis Obispo
See Simi Valley, orange groves and green houses before reaching the
Pacific Coast. As the train hugs the shore see the most magnificent vistas
west through Santa Barbara. Turning north at Point Arguello fields of
strawberries and miles of new vines are all around you on the way to
Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo. Day 1: Salt Lake City – Arches National Park
Explore Park Avenue, Balanced Rock and other areas on the front south
side of the park. Delicate Arch and Landscape Arch are all on the list of
must-see formations.
Day 2: San Luis Obispo – Hearst Castle – Monterey
Join your guide and head west to the coast and then on to San Simeon.
Tour Hearst Castle built during the 1920s and 1930s for the art collection
of world-famous newspaper tycoon William Randolph Hearst. Enjoy
a lunch stop, shop or visit a winery before heading back to San Luis
Obispo and boarding your afternoon train. You’ll pass the horse ranches
of Templeton and green pastures and vineyards of Paso Robles, and by
early evening you reach Salinas.
Day 3: Monterey – San Francisco
Enjoy the day in historic Monterey, Cannery Row, Pacific Grove,
mansions and scenic vistas. See the Pacific crashing on the rocks and
swirling around on 17 Mile Drive, where the Lone Cypress stands guard.
Brush with luxury at the resorts of Pebble Beach and spend time in
Carmel by the Sea for shopping before departing late afternoon by coach
for San Francisco.

Day 2: Arches National Park
An-early morning hike brings you to Delicate Arch and then it’s on to
Landscape Arch, one of the longest natural arches in the world.
Day 3: Canyonlands National Park – Capitol Reef National Park
Hike to Mesa Arch for an up-close view of one of the most photographed
arches in Canyonlands National Park.
Day 4: Capitol Reef National Park – Bryce Canyon National Park
Enjoy a beautiful sunrise from your balcony before heading off for a
morning of exploring places such as Hickman Bridge. On arrival at Bryce
Canyon enjoy a short hike to Mossy Cave.
Day 5: Bryce Canyon National Park – Zion National Park
Rise early to watch the sun rise over Bryce Canyon and the incredible
hoodoos. This afternoon arrive at Zion and hike up to Canyon Overlook.
Day 6: Zion National Park – Salt Lake City
Wake up early and explore the canyon. Traverse Angels Landing or hike
to Observation Point before departing for Salt Lake City.
