San Diego
California’s second largest city still manages to
retain the feel of a seaside resort town. It will
always garner hoards of visitors with its world-
famous SeaWorld and the San Diego Zoo and
Safari Park. It’s an easy 1.5 hour drive from
that other great family institution of Southern
California: Anaheim. But there are plenty of
other reasons to extend your San Diego stay
for a few extra days. For an authentic Mexican
experience, there’s no need to cross the
border, just head for Old Town San Diego and
sample to your heart’s content. Add beautiful
beaches like Mission Beach, great museums
and fabulous shopping, and you’ve got a
destination that’s muy caliente! And for a great
city combo, Palm Springs is a 2 hour drive to
desert landscapes, golf and shopping.
