3 days / 2 nights Suggested Self-Drive
Day 1 : Mornington – Frankston ( 17km ) First stop is Frankston , with its 10 kilometres of sweeping foreshore and a 17 kilometre art and cultural drive that takes in the McClelland Gallery and Sculpture Park .
Day 2 : Frankston – Portsea ( 56km ) Dromana , Rosebud and Rye have tranquil bays and are really popular holiday spots in the summer months . They also have some sophisticated wine bars if you need to take a break . There is plenty of wildlife to see around these parts too .
Portsea is famous for its luxury cliff-top residences , bathing boxes and hotel with expansive beach-side lawn . Take the Millionaire ’ s Walk to Sorrento along cliff tops , through landscaped gardens and past private jetties for vantage points of the imposing mansions .
Day 3 : Portsea – Tyabb ( 52km ) This part of the peninsula has secluded beaches , dramatic coastline and great wineries , not to mention its quiet hinterland with French and Phillip Islands just across the water . There are plenty of villages to call into : Balnarring , a good spot to stock up on local produce , tranquil Flinders , with its gourmet dining options along with cute shops and Tyabb , that has antique stores galore .
