Classic Bogotá A Taste of Cartagena Coffee Triangle

Experience the main sights of Bogotá on this
two night itinerary whilst still having time to
explore at your own leisure. Be introduced to
the many museums and barrios surrounding
this capital city, with a cable car ride thrown
in the mix. On the northern Caribbean coast of Colombia
lies the stunning city of Cartagena. Cartagena
is UNESCO World Heritage listed, and
once you explore the area you will quickly
understand why. In the western region of the country lies
Chinchina Valley which descends from part
of the Andes mountain chain, and provides
perfect conditions for successful coffee
production that Colombia is famous for.
Day 1: Bogotá
Upon arrival at Bogotá Airport you will be met
and transferred to your hotel. Day 1: Cartagena
Upon arrival at Cartagena Airport you will be
met and transferred to your hotel. Day 1: Pereira
Upon arrival at Pereira Airport you will be met
and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2: Bogotá
Visit the historical centre of La Candelaria, an
area of old stately homes and Spanish colonial
buildings. Continue to Museo Botero Art
House, then Museo del Oro, an exhibition of
32,000 pieces of gold. After a tasty Colombian
lunch, visit Santuario de Monserrate, a
symbol of Bogotá. Ride a cable car 500m
above Bogotá to see an incredible panorama
of the city with the Andes on one side. Head
to Usaquén and appreciate the atmosphere
of a barrio that is slightly rural and colonial
in style, yet boasting a modern style. Wander
its narrow streets to find small boutiques, art
galleries and restaurants. Day 2: Cartagena
Explore Cartagena starting with a panoramic
view from the Monasterio and Iglesia de La
Popa. Continue to San Felipe Fortress, erected
in honour of poet Don Luis Carlos López.
Go on to the old city of Ciudad Vieja to visit
the convent and church of San Pedro Claver.
Stop by the handicrafts zone of Bovedas,
a collection of archways built into the city
wall of Cartagena, formerly used as a prison.
Nowadays it’s an artisan centre to appreciate
local handcraft. Day 2: Pereira – Chinchina – Pereira
Declared an UNESCO World Heritage Site,
visit the beautiful coffee plantations along
steep hills typical of Chinchina. Visit a coffee
hacienda and learn about its production.
Understand coffee varieties around the world
and the humid coffee that is characteristic of
Colombian coffee.
Day 3: Bogotá
Transfer to Bogotá Airport where your
arrangements end.
Day 3: Cartagena
Enjoy a day at leisure in Cartagena.
Day 4: Cartagena
After breakfast, transfer to the airport where
your Cartagena visit ends.
Day 3: Pereira – Valle del Cocora &
Filandia
Leave for Valle de Cocora located in the
central mountains of Quindio. View a
Quindian Wax Palm, the national tree of
Colombia. Visit the traditional village of
Filandia before returning to Pereira.
Day 4: Pereira
After breakfast, transfer to the airport where
your arrangements end.
