edges with powerful searchlights to see caiman, explore by canoe and
navigate towards the “Meeting of the Waters”, a unique spectacle where
the bright and dark waters of the Amazon and Negro flow side by side. Araras Eco Lodge, superbly located amidst the Brazil Pantanal, is also
known as South America's primary wildlife sanctuary. Cuiabá is the
gateway to Araras Eco Lodge and its many activities to fully explore the
Amazon. From bird watching, trekking, horse riding and night tours, the
Araras naturalist guides aim to show you everything you hoped for.
Day 1: Manaus
Meet the Clipper Premium Cruise group and depart toward the Amazon
River while enjoying a welcome drink and an introduction to the
Amazon ecology. After dinner, explore the river's edge with powerful
torches to look for caimans and other nocturnal creatures such as night-
hawks, snakes, toro-rats, sloth and frogs. Day 1: Cuiabá
Arrive at Cuiabá Airport or pick up from your hotel and transfer
to Araras Eco Lodge. Appreciate the local flora and fauna on a late
afternoon hike, also taking in a spectacular sunset view. After dinner, we
recommend taking a night wander to hear the nocturnal birds.
Day 2: The Brazil Amazon
Start the day with an early canoe exploration of the sleeping forest. Keep
your eyes open for birds and pink river dolphins. After breakfast, take
an interesting walk in the forest, then fish for piranha in the afternoon.
Admire the millions of stars and constellations at night.
Day 3: Manaus
Take one last bird watching opportunity and see the giant water lilies,
before heading towards the "Meeting of the Waters". Return to Manaus
where your Amazon Clipper Premium Cruise ends.
Day 2: The Brazil Pantanal
Spend a full day observing Araras Private Reserve. This can include a
horse ride through wonderful pastures, woods and wetlands, or heading
off on foot to make the most of this amazing environment.
Day 3: Cuiabá
A sunrise hike will ensure a perfect finish to your visit at Araras Eco
Lodge. The transfer back to Cuiabá will be a photographic opportunity
in itself. Arrangements end at Cuiabá Airport or hotel.
