All the resorts are small and a stay here means a complete departure from the
world of commerce – no shops, no banks, no traffic, no tension. Just peace,
quiet and stunning surroundings. Lodgings range from clean and comfortable
backpackers to total luxury but they all have one thing in common: the
friendliest service you’re ever likely to find.

es, the Yasawas are all-out gorgeous, and if being a little out of step with the
rest of the world appeals to you, you’re going to love it here. It’s even more
relaxed than Fiji’s other tourist spots; we like to describe it as going back a
couple of decades, Bula time. In fact, a couple of actual decades ago, these
islands were regarded as seriously remote. But that’s just the start of their
appeal. They have some of the most beautiful beaches on earth – fabulous
stretches of white sand, facing dazzling turquoise and blue lagoons.
So, where are these magical isles? Around three hours northwest of Nadi by
sea, aboard the Yasawa Flyer, better known as ‘the yellow boat’. We advise
you to book in advance, as there is only one voyage daily and it’s very popular,
with grand views all the way.
