Experience the amazing Aurora Borealis. These giant electrical storms are formed by solar flares from the sun reacting with the earth’ s magnetic field. This causes brilliant displays of light flashing across the sky.

Day 1: Anchorage – Brooks Lodge, Katmai National Park After your scenic flights to Brooks Lodge you’ ll be given a brief bear orientation by a park ranger, then you’ re free to explore at your leisure. With three viewing platforms on the Brooks River, all within walking distance from the lodge, you can take as much time as you want to enjoy your surroundings and bear viewing.
Day 2: Brooks Lodge – Anchorage Today is yours to explore Katmai and spend more time at the viewing platforms, before departing late afternoon for Anchorage.
Day 1: Fairbanks – Bettles Lodge Depart this morning in a small plane to Bettles, 56 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle. Bettles Lodge is in a prime location under the aurora band of highest frequency activity, the clear skies allow for prolonged night viewing. Front desk staff arrange wake up calls when good viewing occurs so you don’ t have to stay awake all night.
Day 2: Bettles Lodge There are some unique and different winter activities available( additional charges apply), or take the time to relax in the warmth of the lodge. Take part in Aurora viewing for the last time tonight.
Day 3: Bettles Lodge – Fairbanks Depending on flight schedules, there may be time to explore this morning.
Day 1: Fairbanks – Coldfoot This morning depart for your journey to the Arctic Ocean. Visit the Arctic Circle Trading Post in the rural community of Joy and experience the mighty Yukon River. Cross the Arctic Circle on your way to Coldfoot.
Day 2: Coldfoot – Prudhoe Bay Today continue north, climbing over the Continental Divide at Atigun Pass. Explore the amazing Arctic tundra of the Arctic Coastal Plain and feel the veins of ice just beneath the surface.
Day 3: Prudhoe Bay – Fairbanks Fly from Prudhoe Bay to the Inupiat Eskimo village of Barrow. Get a first hand glimpse of the lifestyle of Alaska’ s Arctic Coastal people with a tour of the village. Return by air to Fairbanks.
