Although Nicholas still considers the Nissan
GT-R to be the “grail car”, and a target worth
working towards, that has not diminished
his love for the Evo, with him saying it is a
highly capable car, particularly with a few
choice upgrades.
So, where do we start with? How about the
exterior, with its Varis carbon fibre body kit,
comprising of a bonnet, side skirts and canards.
In case you were wondering where the body kit
went, it is because Nicholas chose to spray paint
some of the parts white, creating a “stealth” look.

Topping things off is a Voltex Type 5 GT Wing.
At this point, we have got to admit that we are
big fans of this car’s look. Better for a car to
have it and not flaunt it, than to be a car whose
looks promise more performance than could
actually be delivered.
And delivering on performance is certainly what
this car does best, once you peep under the
hood. At first glance, an AEM intake and Owen
Development turbocharger, hooked up to a
HKS SSQV blow-off valve can be seen. Other
upgrades include Blitz camshafts, Cosworth
fuel rails, and Sard fuel regulators. Providing
more than adequate lubrication for this
hardworking 4B11T is a Tomei oil pump with a
Trust oil cooler.
To better enjoy the stirring sounds of this
turbocharged four-pot engine, a Fujitsubo
exhaust has been fitted, giving this ride a
mellifluous burble at idle, which builds up nicely
as the revs rise.
