extra thick (double the thickness of the stock GT-R) Endless W003 racing brake pads to supply assuring stopping power when needed. These brakes were also chosen because of their solid reputation that it has garnered from being continually abused in the annual Super Taikyu endurance racing events in Japan. Normal aftermarket rims with wide widths were not able to cope with the new stance the GT-R was commanding, hence custom offset & width rims were carefully made to measure by Forged Specialities, with the rear set at 14″. The sticky rubber tasked with the tough job of keeping the car firmly planted onto the tarmac were Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tyres. You must be wondering what size are the rear tyres? A massive 335/30ZR/20. That’s like a total of 3 stock tyres added together on a normal sedan just for the rear! The carbon fibre rear bumper is from TMR Japan with the additional vents done by Karbon Kraft. The now famous Wald black bison edition rear carbon diffuser finishes off the rear appearance perfectly. Now the most interesting part is actually the ultra rare rear over fenders that were directly acquired from the good people at Sumo Power UK where they reluctantly but kindly (after much badgering & tears) sold their ‘one off’ first prototype rear over fenders for their actual FIA GT1 GT-R. There isn’t a second set available anywhere else in the world except probably back at Sumo Power UK. The GT-R’s rear body width was further extended by an additional 110mm on each side to ensure a wider presence on the road as well as reducing the center of gravity for the car, reducing body roll & improving cornering abilities. That massive wing that adorns the carbon boot from Varis Japan began with life on an actual retired Super GT ZENT GT500 SC430 race car. It measures a staggering 1850mm of down force adding goodness that does it’s job relentlessly when at speeds well above 300kmh. Removing all the badges on the car is always a norm for a modified street car but when you have one that shows the coveted GT-R logo, you somehow tend to just leave it on. the nissan silvia s15 shown here is just as impressive Now for it’s older but not necessarily weaker brother. The Nissan Silvia S15, the last incarnation of the famous S chassis that has left drift fans all over the world swooning over it’s sleek, suave looks and more than capable performance from the box. Over a decade has passed since it’s official launch but there is still no concrete evidence from Nissan that there will ever be a new blood line to carry on its heritage. but fret not as the saying goes, every cloud has a silver lining, just like how we feel that every (car) club should have a Silvia Lightning. 31
