A SLEW OF MOVEMENT IN THE HOSPITALITY SECTOR HAS PEOPLE MOVING UP AND AROUND.
ACCOR TAPS RANJU ALEX AS CEO FOR SOUTH ASIA
Ranju Alex’ s role as Accor’ s CEO for South Asia will cover India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Ranju has spent the last 14 years with Marriott International, most recently serving as its regional VP for South Asia, overseeing 170 hotels across the region. She began her career with The Oberoi Group in 1993 and was recently conferred the Bharat Gaurav award.
ROSEWOOD TAPS JENNI BENZAQUEN AS SVP OF RESIDENTIAL, GLOBAL
Jenni Benzaquen brings two decades of luxury real estate and hospitality leadership to the role, most recently serving as SVP, luxury group at Marriott International and managing director of Design Hotels. Her track record in brand differentiation, HNWI engagement and complex global transformations will aid Rosewood Hotel Group in integrating residential business into mixed-use developments, standalone towers and resort communities.
CLUB MED NAMES NEW CEO
Stéphane Maquaire succeeds Henri Giscard d’ Estaing, who led the Parisbased company for the past two decades. Maquaire brings extensive leadership experience with global French companies to his new role, joining the company from Carrefour, where he served as executive director for Carrefour Brazil and Latin America. He began his career at the Chicago-based accounting firm Arthur Andersen, before joining Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield and later French retail chain Monoprix. After that, he went on to lead Vivarte in France, then Swiss retailer Manor, before joining Carrefour in 2019.
AIMBRIDGE HOSPITALITY ADDS NEW PRESIDENT OF SELECT-SERVICE DIVISION
Chris O’ Donnell will lead the division beginning September 15. O’ Donnell began his career as a general manager with Marriott International and later went on to hold senior roles at Magna Hospitality and White Lodging. His prior post was COO at Atrium Hospitality, leading operational strategy across a national portfolio.
LANGHAM HOSPITALITY APPOINTS GLOBAL HEAD OF RESIDENTIAL
Langham Hospitality Group has welcomed Rico Picenoni as its global head of residential, a newly created position within the company aimed at advancing its design, branding and operation of private homes amid a surge in property developments comprising both hotels and permanent dwellings. Picenoni recently helmed the branded residential consultancy team at Savills from the company’ s London headquarters. Before that, he oversaw residential and extended-stay development across the Middle East and Africa for Accor.
