palettes allow details of craftsmanship to shine . The hotel ’ s public spaces are monochrome , a perfect backdrop to show off , say , the floor of the Grand Lobby that reminds one of leaves , or the photographs of the Amazon rainforest in the Burle Bar .
In the hotel ’ s signature restaurant , Tangara Jean-Georges , a green carpet imitates the bottom of a lake and a reflection of the forest on the water . Walls feature ceramics with copper details and paintings created for the hotel by local artist Heloisa Galvao .

Perd ’ s favorite aspect of the project is how the Brazilian landscape is incorporated in everything from artwork to carpeting . “ Local craftsmanship has also been used to manufacture bespoke pieces of furniture , another element of true luxury . Since opening in May , business travel drives weekday occupancy and corporate events . But Marrenbach believes the hotel will generate leisure stays organically , given its leisure facilities and Jean-Georges ’ cuisine . “ In other words , Palacio Tangara may very well become the spot for weekend escapes , especially among restless urban-based Brazilians ,” he says .
After all , who can resist a songbird ?
