Oetker Collection leadership hopes guests will find its Palacio Tangara in São Paulo as irresistible as the multi-colored paradise tanager it is named after .

Owner GTIS , a U . S . -based real estate investor , opened the urban resort in May . Property manager , Baden Baden , Germanybased Oetker Collection , has a rare location to work with inside Burle Marx Park , a 26-acre rainforest garden 10 miles southwest of São Paulo ’ s center .
The result ? Palacio Tangara is a smooth contender in the city ’ s luxury hotel set , which includes Fasano São Paulo , Hotel Emiliano and Hotel Unique . As more luxury brands enter , including Four Seasons this year and Rosewood in 2019 , the hotel aims to seal its position as an improbable fusion of Brazilian color , eclectic culture and vigor , and European chic and restraint , a combination it believes is novel to the city .
New concepts appear to favor São Paulo . Rosewood , with French entrepreneur Alexandre Allard , who helped prompt the renaissance of the House of Balmain , are repurposing a 1904 maternity hospital at the center of Cidade Matarazzo into a hotel .
