Deemed Taipei ’ s tallest hotel , Shangri-La ’ s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel recently celebrated its 20th anniversary by completing a NT $ 1.5 billion ( US $ 50 million ) renovation that took 18 months to complete . Among the additions is custom artwork created exclusively for the hotel ’ s lobby and reception areas .
