A deluxe room with balcony

A prerequisite to receiving French Palace certification was the excavation for the 7,500-square-foot Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Centre , which includes a 60-foot pool , treatment rooms , sauna , steam room and gym . Windows send sunlight to the pool and fitness center , with golden-veined Calacatta marble in custom finishes .

Reducing keys from 233 to 184 , including 47 suites , over seven floors created larger and quieter spaces . “ All rooms have 100 % acoustic control ,” says Andrieu , “ as we constructed a ‘ box in a box ’ with a void between walls to absorb the noise from the Metro just yards away .”
Opened in October were seven signature suites , including a presidential and two penthouses with private terraces , while the Lutetia Brasserie with chef Gérald Passedat , who holds three Michelin stars , will receive guests by the end of November .
