Café Royal , London Desserts in London have been very trendy as of late with much more interest in patisserie and desserts overall , according to Café Royal Pastry Chef Sarah Barber .
The hotel ’ s stand-alone dessert restaurant , The Café , uses a range of much smaller plates for service and likes to vary color selections , Barber says , adding they use bowls with fitted lids , which create the opportunity to deliver a surprise dessert underneath .

HOMEMADE LIMONCELLO WITH DESSERT
Kingbird , Watergate Hotel , Washington , D . C . At the infamous and recently repositioned Watergate Hotel in Washington , D . C ., Executive Chef Michael Santoro at Kingbird restaurant uses a local distiller to pair homemade limoncello served in grappa glasses , as well as homemade coffee liqueur , with dessert offerings . “ It enables us to provide a much more personal and unrivalled approach ,” Santoro says .
The capper at Kingbird : aging the infused whisky-based cocktail in wooden barrels placed at the table with the service . “ It exemplifies the personal service as well as the buildup established for great guest experiences ,” he adds .
