HIGHLIGHT : Designed to achieve LEED Gold Certification in an adaptively reused building , the hostel includes sustainable features such as high-recycled-content furniture and regionally sourced building materials , but it also offers local flair with touches like a color scheme that reflects Boston ’ s major subway lines — red , orange , green and blue .

HIGHLIGHT : In an effort to create guestrooms that are refined and residential in ambience , designers played with textures , using fabrics such as knitted cashmere and wool , in addition to a soft color palette enlivened with accents inspired by the bright red fruit of the Alpine Barberry bush as well as rich chocolate brown .
