LOCAL , URBAN , ORGANIC The design for Marriott International ’ s W Dubai – The Palm reflects both the local geography and urban environment , says Anne Scott , general manager of the hotel , which opened February 1 . Mohamed Karel , director of design for Al Sharq Investment mixes the soft lines of Dubai ’ s sand dunes and beaches with the manmade landscapes of shopping malls and highways .
Of the 350 keys , 58 suites face the ocean , and according to the hotel , a three-story penthouse slated to debut in 2020 will be the most expensive in Dubai .
“ There ’ s an energy that comes from celebrating both – the organic shapes and the manmade shapes , curved and hard lines ...
