THE LOWELL HOTEL ’ S MAJORELLE
hotelsm . ag / LowellMajorelle With the opening of Majorelle , a restaurant from famed chef Charles Masson , in March , the Upper East Side ’ s 74-room Lowell Hotel officially wrapped a three-year , US $ 25 million renovation . Masson , a French master who helms Majorelle – which replaces Lowell ’ s former upscale steakhouse , The Post House – previously ran the nowshuttered Lespinasse before working for David Bouley and then becoming executive chef at La Mangeoire .

FOUR SEASONS KYOTO PRODUCT OF MAYORAL MOVE

According to the hotel ’ s general manager , Kyoto ’ s mayor has encouraged foreign investment , in a bid to increase the city ’ s number of bedrooms . Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto ’ s owners , Malaysiabased Berjaya , wanted a 5-star hotel and have sunk the money in to get it .
