Scholl celebrateS 70th anniverSary
Founded in Offenbach , Germany , in 1945 , Scholl entered the market with its first product — Plate warmer 2008 — that today has been sold more than 50,000 times even as the company ’ s product range has grown steadily .
Today Scholl is based in Bad Marienberg / Westerwald , Germany . In 1990 a new sheet metal processing center was integrated into its operations , and at the beginning of the new millennium the machine park was extended by a laser plant , which increased productivity .
Now in 2015 , as Scholl celebrates its 70th anniversary , the company credits its staff of more than 80 people as the cornerstone of its success .
Built in 2008 , Scholl ’ s administration building features a front-cooking training room .

Kahla / Thüringen Porzellan received the iF Design Gold Award in the product category for Magic Grip , a new surface technology that increases the functionality of porcelain through an integrated silicone foot on plates , bowls and other porcelain . The product is slip-resistant , reduces sound and protects surfaces from scratches . The award ceremony took place in February in Munich , Germany .

BHS Tabletop ended its financial year by posting € 99.3 million ( US $ 107 million ) in sales , up 9.1 % from the previous year . The company ’ s operating income in 2014 totaled € 4.7 million ( US $ 5 million ), a 20 % year-over-year increase . “ We counter the fierce price competition from worldwide overcapacity with innovative product concepts and sophisticated international tabletop and logistics solutions ,” says BHS CEO Christian Strootmann .
