The new stacking chair , Orvia , from Burgess Furniture has been awarded the FIRA Ergonomics Excellence Award 2012 .
Orvia , designed by Peter Roth , aims to redefine the contemporary conference and banquet chair with its unique extrusion as well as its ergonomic design .
FIRA ’ s Excellence Award recognizes companies that design and manufacture ergonomically outstanding products , especially those that meet and exceed the requirements of British and European standards .
Blanco honored for sustainability
Blanco CS , Oberderdingen , Germany , was honored recently in the sustainability competition “ Grünes Band ” (“ Green Ribbon ”).
Magazine gastronomie & hotellerie and catering industry trade journal GV-kompakt presented the first Grünes Band industry awards to 16 suppliers , manufacturers and service providers for hotels and the foodservice and catering industries .

Groupe GM , Kerstin partner on spainspired products
Groupe GM has announced a worldwide exclusive partnership with Kerstin Florian to deliver a new range of naturally sourced , spa-inspired hotel amenities .
The products use Neroli , the white blossom from the bitter orange tree with a scent considered to be a stress reliever . All formulations are free of paraben , silicone and any ingredients of animal origin . Soaps and liquid surfactants are over 90 % biodegradable .

Onity installs new locking system for Extended Stay Hotels
Onity will supply the HT24 locking solution to more than 290 Extended Stay Hotels across the United States . This is part of the hotel chain ’ s larger renovation plans and will result in the installation of up to 40,000 locks .
The HT24 locking system is based on mag-stripe technology , which uses an Onity encoder to program the security band on the back of the keycard . The information encoded includes the room number along with other doors the keycard can unlock . Encoded cards inserted into the electronic HT24 are read by the lock to ensure that keycard has access to the door . When new guests arrive , the lock access plan is updated to prevent reentry of expired keys .
