Design work for Vivanta by Taj – Bekal , which is owned by Khanna Hotels , Mumbai , and operated by Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces , Mumbai , under its Vivanta by Taj Hotels & Resorts spa resort brand , began in 2005 , and construction of the first mock-up villa began in 2008 . The hotel soft-opened December 17 , 2011 , and was officially launched March 12 .
Since then ADR has been approximately US $ 300 per night , and Taj says the performance has been good considering that it is trying to establish Bekal as a new destination .
“ The occupancy has been a healthy 45 % to 55 %,” says Manojeet Bhujabal , general manager of marketing for Vivanta by Taj Hotels & Resorts . “ The
