Hotel Emma also hopes to make a mark on San Antonio ’ s culinary scene with three dining and drinking concepts . The restaurant , Supper , offers a menu from chef John Brand of fresh green market cuisine inspired by local and regional cultures . Larder carries local groceries , wine , beer and other prepared foods in the old brewing cellar , and Sternewirth serves classic cocktails , notable wines , craft beers and small plates . Sternewirth is Yanke ’ s favorite part of the hotel due to the sheer scale of its 25-foot ( 7.62-meter ) ceiling , along with its cast-iron fermentation tanks refurbished into banquettes , and a repurposed bottle labeler that has been made into a chandelier .
Additional amenities include a two-story library , locally brewed coffee service throughout the hotel , luxury toiletries , complimentary cruiser bikes , a fitness center and a rooftop pool .
Yanke says the competitive set includes The Westin River Walk , Mokara Hotel & Spa , Omni La Mansion , Hotel Contessa and Hotel Valencia . However , he wants Hotel Emma to compete on a national and international level .
“ Something like this in an old brewery with the addition of a new hotel wing and luxury and well-worn furnishings has never really been done before ,” Yanke adds .
