Amadeus , HRS team up

Amadeus and HRS have announced a strategic alliance to distribute HRS ’ s hotel content through Amadeus . This is the first time HRS will make its content available through a global distribution system .
Through the partnership , Amadeus will integrate HRS ’ database of around 250,000 hotel properties to its distribution system . This includes more than 50,000 independent hotel properties that were previously distributed exclusively through HRS .
“ By distributing our content through the GDS channel for the first time , we will make our hotel partners bookable through more than 91,000 travel agencies and over 65,000 airline sales offices that use the Amadeus system worldwide ,” says Tobias Ragge , CEO , HRS .

Brand image wins red dot award

Schönwald — with ad agency Schliesske — has received a red dot award for its brand relaunch , presented in March 2011 . The porcelain manufacturer ’ s image makeover received the 2011 red dot prize in communication design in the corporate design category . The red dot award is divided into three disciplines : product design , communication design and design concept .
Schönwald ’ s new slogan is “ German Performance ,” and its new brand image uses modern dark blue . “ We have given the traditional Schönwald brand a facelift , redefined its core competences and clearly sharpened up its profile ,” says Matthias Schöffel , Schönwald ’ s director of marketing . “ We are proud that this repositioning has been recognized with the red dot award .”
Irish bedding added to hotel linen line
Monarch Robe & Towel Co . has signed an agreement with Lissadell Liddell Ireland Ltd . to add Liddell bedding products to Monarch ’ s line of hotel linens . The deal allows Monarch- Cypress to offer Liddellbranded sheets , pillowcases and duvets to clients throughout the United States , Canada and the Caribbean . “ We are confident that this partnership will present a solid platform for both companies to consolidate our mutual positions as global market leaders ,” says Gene Faul , CEO for the hotel division of Monarch-Cypress .
Napkin-folding machine honored
The Rofobox has won a prize for innovation at Intergastra Stuttgart 2012 . The high-tech table napkin-folding machine is now in series production .
The Intergastra prize for innovation is awarded by Messe Stuttgart , DEHOGA Baden-Württemberg and AHGZ Allgemeine Hotel- und Gastronomie-Zeitung . Since its introduction last June , a fully automatic , close-toproduction prototype has been running in the Estrel Hotel Berlin .
