TENBRINK BECOMESTKS

Tenbrink has rebranded itself as TKS , the acronym for “ Turn- Key Solutions .”
Over the past several years , the company , which specializes in initial fit-outs and refurbishments of hotels , has broadened its market presence in Europe , completing projects in cities including London , Paris , Berlin and Brussels with clients such as Accor and Hilton . In addition to the name change , TKS set up two new subsidiaries , in Switzerland and France .

GROHE ORGANIZES WATER WORKSHOP

Grohe recently partnered with the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group to organize a shared workshop in Dusseldorf , Germany , to examine how water is used holistically in the hotel industry . The workshop looked at the challenges of water sustainability , current and future technology solutions and ways to enrich the guest experience while minimizing a hotel ’ s water footprint . Discussions focused on three main areas : design for sustainability in new-builds , retrofitting to optimize existing property and changing behavior and consumer expectations .
As a next step , Carlson Rezidor , Grohe and their partners will establish a water task force that will audit selected hotels to minimize their water consumption while maximizing guest comfort .

ACCUBAR TEAMS WITH CIA

AccuBar and the Culinary Institute of America ( CIA ) have teamed up to bring AccuBar ’ s iWineLists technology to another of the institute ’ s restaurants .
American Bounty on the CIA campus in Hyde Park , New York , will display its wine list on iPad tablets running the iWineLists technology . With iWineLists , diners can sort the wine list by wine type , varietal , price and other criteria . The wine list will also guide diners in pairing dishes with wines and provide tasting notes and other info about the wines .
CIA and AccuBar previously partnered to put iWineLists into The Bocuse Restaurant at the institute and plan to expand the program to other campuses .

KAHLA JOINS THURINGIA SUSTAINABILITY ACCORD

Kahla / Thüringen Porzellan is joining the Thuringia Sustainability Accord , which was established in 2004 as a voluntary agreement among local businesses and the state government of the Free State of Thuringia . It brings together politics , administration and businesses around the topics of climate and environmental protection , conservation of resources and energy efficiency . Almost 400 companies from Thuringia have joined the sustainable business network .
