Hyatt debuts two brands stateside and in Japan

ot one but two Hyatt Hotels Corp. brands will soon make their debuts in very different parts of the world. In Tucson, Ariz., Hyatt, in collaboration with HSL Properties and Desert Hospitality Management, announced Hyatt Regency Tucson Convention Center, with an expected opening in late 2027. The hotel is a conversion of the Braniff Place Hotel and will include 291 rooms and approximately 22,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space.“ This investment reflects our confidence in Tucson’ s continued growth and our commitment to enhancing the city’ s hospitality offerings,” said Omar Mireles, president of HSL Properties.
Well east, Hyatt is at work on Alila Sengokuhara Hakone in Japan, scheduled to open in 2028 in partnership with Fujita Corp. The resort marks the Alila brand’ s debut in Japan. Hyatt acquired Alila Hotels and Resorts in late 2018 as part of its acquisition of Two Roads Hospitality. Sengokuhara sits within Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park and is known for its seasonal scenery, art museums, volcanic terrain and views toward Mount Kintoki. The hotel will include 60 guestrooms and 11 suites, each with a private natural hot spring bath. Kengo Kuma and Assoc. is designing the property.

Design Hotels broadens U. S. presence with Palisociety partnership

Design Hotels entered into agreements with the owners of 16 hotels operated by Los Angeles-based Palisociety, marking the largest single portfolio addition in the brand’ s history. The properties are across nine U. S. destinations and represent more than 1,000 rooms. Design Hotels, part of Marriott International, is a collection of more than 300 independently owned and design-led hotels. The expansion is expected to push the brand past 100 hotels across the Americas this year. Founded

in 2008, Palisociety operates more than 20 hotels, residences and restaurants across five subbrands: Palihouse, Palihotel, Le Petit Pali, ARRIVE by Palisociety and an assortment of independently branded properties. " Design Hotels has long been a symbol of creativity, vision and inspired hospitality in the industry, and we are thrilled to introduce our collection of hotels into their portfolio," said Avi Brosh, founder of Palisociety. Palisociety’ s member hotels will access Design Hotels’ services,
including public relations, sales, digital marketing, web design and content creation, as well as Marriott’ s global
distribution channels. All properties are also set to join Marriott Bonvoy in the coming months.
