The chief design goal of the new-build Hotel Indigo Hong Kong Island is to convey the vibrant nature of Asia and , more specifically , Hong Kong ’ s Wan Chai area where it resides . In the 138 guestrooms , architect and lead interior designer Aedas International brings the outside in via fullheight panoramic windows . An open-plan layout enhances the spaciousness of the design — guestrooms offer a gross area of at least 323 sq ft ( 30 sq m ). Locally inspired in-room art includes a handcrafted mosaic wall while a Chinese tea set is among other distinctive details . Read more in Design starting on p41 .
