In other cases , distinct appeals are made to more adventuresome guests who appreciate non-uniform spaces with configuration options ; distinct design elements ; a sense of community and , if they chose , less in the way of daily services such as housekeeping . Perfect for extended families or groups of friends traveling together , an emerging segment known as the social group traveler . Some of the pioneers in this arena have included Sonder and Kasa , which typically offer units within larger , multi-family communities , and the more hoteloriented brands created by TMC Hospitality , Drift and Bode .
It is also interesting to note how our pandemic experience introduced an even greater reliance on technology , with guests welcoming lower levels of staff interaction and resultant savings in property level operating costs . We have also witnessed a greater appreciation of the possible diverse appeals of a hotel , i . e ., solo or co-working spaces ; mini-corporate HQ or training center ; homeless shelter ; mini-dorm ; etc .
