ALTO-SHAAM CHEF COOKS IN CHARITY DINNER

Robert Simmelink , corporate executive chef , Alto-Shaam , was one of 12 chefs cooking for a cause at the American Liver Foundation of Southeastern Wisconsin ’ s Harvest
Gathering in Milwaukee , Wisconsin . In an interactive cooking experience , more than 80 guests helped the chefs prepare a three-course meal . The group raised more than
US $ 30,000 .
Alto-Shaam also named two directors of national accounts on its retail team , Tami Olson and Kyle Rinker . Olson has been with the company since
2002 , previously serving as national account manager , while Rinker joined Alto-Shaam from Rotisol , where he was western regional business development manager .
RESUINSA PRESENTS 2019 TRENDS
Highlighting smart textiles , pastel tones and geometric designs , Resuinsa presented the fourth edition of its professional catalogue at EquipHotel 2018 in November in Paris .
The catalogue includes the Resuinsa 4.0 service featuring smart textiles with RFID technology and proprietary software for monitoring . According to Resuinsa , benefits include saved costs and time , the ability to trace company materials and better security . Resuinsa also touted its atelier service and 1,000-thread-count cotton sheets .
AMBIENTE TO SHINE LIGHT ON HORECA
Ambiente ’ s 2019 show will highlight the HoRe- Ca segment . “ The most recent trends in both food and tableware are having an increasing impact on the HoReCa segment ,” said Thomas Kastl , director of Ambiente Dining . “[ More ] suppliers are taking this into account and are therefore providing contemporary products , which make all the difference at a hotel , restaurant or café .”
Ambiente ( February 8 to 12 in Frankfurt am Main , Germany ), has a range of services to help decision makers and suppliers find one another , including an online exhibitor search function .
HOTELSIGNS . COM MAKES CHARITY DONATION Hotelsigns . com hosted a charity donation event , pledging US $ 10,000 to whichever of six charities garnered the most votes on its website from November 6 to December 19 , 2018 . The nominated charities were Wounded Warrior Project , St . Jude Children ’ s Research Hospital , Ronald McDonald House Charities , PetSmart Charities , Cancer Research Institute and Feeding America .
HÄFELE FORMS HOSPITALITY PROJECT DIVISION
Furniture and architectural hardware supplier Häfele created the Project Business Group to support the hospitality industry . The group includes sales , service and support , according to the company .
Ryan Douglas joined Häfele to lead the new division . He most recently was vice president of OpenKey .
“ What we have here with Häfele is an opportunity to implement a model for how the hospitality industry can and should be served ,” said Douglas .
