193-room Wanda Reign on the Bund has been attracting the young China elite , a set that chose their hotels based on service ( 37 %), location ( 26 %), high-tech facilities ( 22 %), and design and style ( 21 %), according to the Hurun Report 2016 . The hotel ’ s ties with Wang Sicong , son of China ’ s richest man , Wang Jianlin , who helms the Dalian Wanda empire , is also said to be a reason wealthy Chinese millennials are flocking to the hotel , as he is widely regarded as the epitome of millennial cool .
While British firm Foster & Partners designed the exterior , the interior was done by the Wanda HDI , which grew from a design and technical support
The arrival lobby underscores the grand scale and over-the-top use of art , marble , jade , crystal , glass and steel .
The 1,100 square meters of meeting area includes a 720-squaremeter , pillarless Grand Ballroom , set up here for a wedding , with the stunning view of The Bund .
