Hotel companies are increasingly incorporating mobile devices as a form of internal communication among staff within multiple departments and service areas at the property . As the trend continues to pick up steam — mirroring the smartphone revolution currently reshaping society at large — mobile technology is actively redefining numerous hotel processes , enabling staff to spend less time sitting at a desk and more time on their feet helping guests .
Major players like Hilton Worldwide and Hyatt Hotels Corp . as well as smaller companies are already embracing these changes — applying mobile technology to everything from on-site housekeeping and engineering to remote corporate training . And since the technology is becoming both ubiquitous and all-purpose , its potential future uses are myriad .
