On November 12 at The New York Palace , for the 32nd year HOTELS honored its Hotelier of the World award winners as chosen by its readers — Georg Rafael of The Rafael Group , Monte Carlo , Monaco , and Tom Hewitt of Interstate Hotels & Resorts , Arlington , Virginia . Industry luminaries from around the world , including some past award recipients , turned out to honor the 2012 winners during a formal ceremony and lavish cocktail party .
