HORECA FORUM DEBUTS IN 2020
International consumer goods fair Ambiente increased its visitors to 136,000 hailing from more than 166 countries . According to show organizers , 85 % of exhibitors came from outside Germany , making the show , held February 8 to 12 , 2019 , at the Messe Frankfurt exhibition grounds in Frankfurt , Germany , one of the most international to date .
Ambiente also announced that starting with its 2020 show , the dining exhibition area will feature a dedicated hall level for exhibitors from the HoReCa segments . By giving the segment more space , the fair aims to underline its position as an important international HoReCa trading platform for the hospitality industry .
“ The HoReCa area has been developing extremely successfully for several years now ,” said Nicolette Naumann , vice president , Ambiente . “ By expanding our range , we are responding to ongoing growth and also to the needs of the industry , ensuring that , in the future , our visitors can focus more specifically on fields of interest located at the intersection of hospitality and tableware .”
RESUINSA DOUBLES TURNOVER IN FIVE YEARS
Spanish linen manufacturer Resuinsa doubled turnover over the past five years . The company saw a 10 % increase in turnover over 2017 after closing 2018 with more than 45 million euro in sales . Overseas sales represented 40 % of business , and the firm reports that its commitment to international expansion led to 38 % growth in export demand over the previous year . The company also entered several new markets in 2018 , including Denmark , Slovakia , Iceland and others . Resuinsa ’ s textile products are now in 115 countries , serving more than 8,000 clients .
Resuinsa also announced that it is the first company in its sector to receive the SteP Sustainable Textile Production certificate audited and issued by international association Oeko-Tex . The certification guarantees that Resuinsa ’ s production is aligned with environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility parameters .
HOBART WINS INNOVATION AWARD
Undercounter dishwashers by Hobart received the KüchenInnovation des Jahres ( Kitchen Innovation of the Year ) 2019 award for several categories and performance sectors . The judges consider operating comfort , functionality , innovation , product benefits , design and ecology in the two-stage competition for the prize . Hobart also received the Golden Award – Best of the Best , a special distinction for the product that receives the highest total judgment in the gastronomy and large kitchen equipment category .
The Hobart dishwashers feature four innovations : Top-Dry technology ensures drying results without manual drying or polishing , Vapostop prevents clouds of steam from escaping when the machine is opened , the Washsmart app provides key machine data to users , and the Visotronic-Touch control has a simple display navigation .
Markus Bau , director customized systems and export , Hobart , accepted the Kitchen Innovation of the Year 2019 award .
