Online distributor SiteMinder has partnered with Spain ’ s Silken Hotels . Boasting a portfolio of 33 hotels across Spain , Silken will use SiteMinder ’ s connectivity switch to integrate its Opera Central Reservation System to major booking channels .
“ After trialing several alternatives , we chose SiteMinder to power our online distribution because their powerful dashboard , the two-way integrations and pooled inventory model best enabled us to manage our booking channels , reduce costs and lift occupancy ,” says Itziar Poza , revenue manager for Silken Hotels . “ Even within the short time we have worked with SiteMinder we have already seen an improvement in reservations and economic efficiencies .”

VIENNA HOTEL PARTNERS WITH VINGCARD ELSAFE

VingCard Elsafe , part of the Assa Abloy Group , has installed the Essence by VingCard invisible door lock at the Hotel Bristol in Vienna . Essence eliminates all lock hardware on the door , encasing all electronic components inside the door .

Micros marks milestone

Micros Systems has shipped its millionth Micros Point-of- Sale terminal .
In 1977 , Micros introduced the 200 / 300 / 400 Series terminals based on the 8080 microprocessor . The Micros Workstation Series still sold today includes the Micros Client Application Loader to manage software installation and upgrades . The Micros Workstation Series accounts for over half of the company ’ s total terminals shipped .
