INSPIRED BY ART > Artist Residence bedrooms, Charlotte and Justin are currently in the process of developing the property’s out houses to increase the number of bedrooms on site. Meanwhile, the Bristol city centre site will bridge a gap between it’s Penzance property and London - a tactical decision to help join the dots between the group’s various locations. The property will be situated in the city’s beautiful 18th Century Portland Square and will feature 29 bedrooms. Despite both sites being quite different, they will both have the familiar ambience that has made Artist Residence so popular. Artist Residence is growing fast, and Charlotte and Justin are gradually learning to take a step back from the operations of each hotel and focus on the overall direction of the company. It was only 22 around one-and-a-half years ago that the company employed a general manager on any of its sites. “We’ve done everything very organically and at time it’s a bit like navigating Charlie Anderson Room Artwork without a map. It’s all about learning how to deal with it.” duo will continue to seek out ways to keep their creative juices flowing. “We just want to keep growing and creating more. There’s something so enjoyable about creating something, it’s an amazing feeling to find those unloved buildings and put them back into use so both guests and locals can enjoy them.” The fourth opening will be next month in Oxfordshire while the fifth will be located in Bristol and opens in 2018. Charlotte says each new location is a reflection of the couple’s personalities, with “natural instinct” playing a large part in the decision of each new location. The Oxfordshire property will be in the countryside - something the duo have always wanted to pursue - and will offer guests a different experience.
