Fake Journalism and it's Start

Fake journalism can easily be defined as yellow journalism. Yellow journalism is defined as a type of journalism that presents little to no evidence/research news and instead eye catching headlines to sell more newspapers. Yellow journalism had its start in the mid 1890's, the term was coined by Erwin Wardman, editor of the New York Press. The term was used to characterize the journalism that used yellow ink in war between the New York World and New York Journal because both papers were acccused by critics of sensationalizing the news in order to drive up circulation.
