With more than two million works in the collection spanning five
thousand years of world civilization, The Metropolitan Museum of Art –
known colloquially as The Met – is one of the finest art museums in the
world.
Since its inception in 1870, the Museum hosts the most important
collection of American Art in the world, as well as the biggest collection of
Egyptian Art outside Egypt. It also contains more than twenty-five thousand
European artworks, including those of Johannes Vermeer, Vincent Van
Gogh, Claude Monet and Pablo Picasso, and arts from Asia, Oceania, Africa
and the Middle East, through both its permanent collection and temporary
exhibitions. A selection of the Museum's highlights are also made into
diverse products on sale at The Met Store, which is an integral part of the
Museum.
Thailand is one of the three international locations of The Met Store
outside the United States, along with Australia and Mexico. The store offers
sixteen categories of products including reproductions of outstanding
paintings by some of the world's greatest artists for wall decoration,
jewelry pieces with prestigious historical background, watches, clothing,
stationery, sculptures, books, home decoration items, bags, accessories,
exhibition memorabilia and products for kids. All items are available at the
store's three branches in Thailand.
The Met Store is long known for its wide range of products
meticulously conceived by the Museum's curatorial experts and
craftspeople. Its jewelry are especially designed with inspirations from
works of art and accompanied by official texts describing each piece's origin
and idea. A wealth of knowledge can be learned from each outstanding
product.
All three branches of The Met Store in Thailand are located in the
center of Bangkok. The flagship store is at the Kian Gwan House, Wireless
Road. The second branch is at the Peninsula Plaza, Ratchadamri Road. And
the latest outpost is at the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel next door.
