at Centennial Club
IBF flyweight champion Amnat
Ruenreong (17-0, 5 KO’s) defended his
title for the fifth time against IBF #10
Myung Ho Lee (19-4-1, 6 KO’s) from
Japan. The fight took place on December
7 at Hua Hin’s Centennial Sport Club.
Although it looked to be a pretty even
fight right to the end all 3 judges scored
unanimously in favor of the Thai
champion, 117 -109, 117-109, 118-108.
After winning Anmat said “I would
like to dedicate this match to his
Majesty the King on his 88th birthday
anniversary”. Amnat was previously
the benefactor of a Royal Pardon which
shaved two years off of his prison term.
Amnat went on to say that the win was
also a great birthday present to himself
as he turns 36 on December 18th.
Amnat confirmed that he would
like his next fight to be against WBA
Champion Kazuto Ioka of Japan or
Roman Gonzalez of Nicaragua.
“My next goal is to win another belt”
Amnet said. “I would like to fight either
Ioka or Gonzalez.
