57.20 grams Beeswax 42.90 grams White Cocoa Butter 128.13 grams High Melt Point Shea Butter 57.20 Castor Oil 2 tea bags Green Tea or Chamomile Herbal Tea( optional) 0.29 Spearmint Essential Oil 0.29 Natural Vanilla Oil
This lip balm is made in two separate steps. Start by weighing the Castor Oil into a microwave safe container. Heat gently until the oil is warm.
Add the Green Tea or Herbal Tea and allow it to sit for anywhere from 1-24 hours. Remove the tea bags. If you are not using tea to create an oil infusion, feel free to skip this step.
Add the remainder of your oils and heat gently. Once the oils have completely melted so that they are crystal clear, add the Spearmint Essential Oil and Natural Vanilla Oil. Stir well.
From here, you can either pipette the mixture into your tubes or you can use a filling tray. Filling trays are a great time saver because you can fill fifty tubes at a single time! Since this recipe make fifty five tubes, this is a perfect option.
If you are going to pipette the lip balm into the tubes, fill the tube until you get a dome of liquid material at the top. Wax shrinks when it cools and doing this helps insure that you get a very pretty top. Fill all of your tubes making sure they are domed on the top before they cool.( You may need to reheat your lip balm during this process. This is normal and to be expected.) Allow the tubes to cool and cap.
That is it! You just made your first batch of natural, tasty lip balm. I wish cakes were this easy to make!
