The high altitude and micro climate from which Les Saisies benefits, ensure great snow records from mid December (sometimes November) until late April. From Geneva airport, a bus (1.5 hours) takes you to Megève, from where a taxi to Les Saisies is around €50. Accommodation at Les Saisies is a mix of chalets, a few small hotels, and some ‘Residences de Tourisme’ apartment buildings - such as the 4-star rated ‘Les Chalets d’Emeraude’, which was recently built by Lagrange (www.vacances-lagrange.com). HT stayed in a spacious two-bedroom apartment with kitchen, living room and balcony. The d’Emeraude is ten minutes’ walk from the village centre and ski lifts. Shooting forms part of the biathlon (with cross-country skiing) - and Les Saisies has one of the highest and most beautiful shooting ranges of the Alps. This was where the Albertville Olympic Games took place in 1992. It has 14 mechanical targets, 1 km track around and 120 km for the entire cross country skiing area. The cross-country skiing area will be open from the first snow falls of the 2016-17 season, through to April 21st 2017. http://winter.lessaisies.com/
