Tiziano makes it very clear that he is selective with the
companies he works with; he wants to ensure that their
level of quality is at par with the client’s expectations.
He will only work with people who have the same
strong work ethic as that of Primavera. When working
with third parties, it is imperative that a friendly re-
lationship is built so that ideas will be exchanged and
innovation is instilled throughout all aspects of this
partnership. Tiziano is working hard towards building
a culture of co-operation within the industry – cur-
rently there is a tendency of competitors not talking
to each other and even at times potentially working
against each other. “Malta is small country and there
should be no room for pettiness,” he muses.
Primavera Caterers are proud of their heritage

So, if we assume that you work with people rather than
machines, is it correct to believe that, at this stage, this
does not affect the price of the produce? Tiziano ex-
plains that the Maltese public has nowadays developed
an affinity with food and has learnt to appreciate good
quality even if it comes at a slightly higher price. “Yes,
a machine can produce more quantities than a person
operating ‘by hand’ ever could, but when a sample of
both products is presented to a client, the hand-craft-
ed item is always chosen in the end,” he affirms.
Let us say that we have a new restaurant promoting
itself as being a good quality restaurant.. how would
Primavera convince them to buy their products?

The team also works hand in hand with the Environ-
ment Health Directorate to ensure that all health,
safety and hygiene regulations are adhered to. In
fact Primavera are not merely HACCP accredited as
is required by law. “We are classified as a Grade A
outfit. Primavera also employs an independent pro-
fessional who undertakes high-level, random tests
which are then enable the team to be accountable
at all times, as such tests identify the person who is
being checked.”
In a fast past modern world, where machinery has
seemingly taken over our lives, it is refreshing to see a
company like Primavera standing their ground and not
giving in completely to technology. And in doing so,
this third-generation family firm has further rein-
forced the importance of Primavera Caterers to Malta’s
hospitality industry.
