We nurture human resource into a solid passionate team, whose objective is to grow the company to superior levels. When we adhere to this maxim, PROFITABLE YET SUSTAINABLE Pierre was, in a recent interview, quoted as saying that the company’s objective is to be profitable yet sustainable. Can one safely say that this has been achieved by AppleCore? Pierre nods in agreement. He is convinced that this is achieved by working smarter and not necessarily harder and also by being ahead of the game. This is something that Pierre keeps trying to instil amongst his team. Pierre is certain that one does not need to burn oneself out to achieve goals – you just need to make sure that a good team is in place. Despite having nearly four decades in quite a cut- everything else will fall into place throat industry, Pierre remains humble. He is ful- ly cognisant of the pitfalls any brazen attitudes from his and his team’s part could cause. He feels blessed at having a team which is loyal and in synch with the company’s objectives. And having worked with many of them for decades, Pierre knows what makes each other tick. Mutual respect, treating each other well and all working hard towards a common goal have cre- ated a natural flow, which is, as Pierre confirms, “our secret to having achieved this sustainability.” “ The key to our success is to meet and exceed the clients’ needs in terms of quality of products supplied by our trusted partners, and excellence of service. AppleCore Foods means excellence and integrity ” Pierre Mattocks 19
