local wedding A Bride, a Groom, Two Flower Girls and a Dog 10 2020 SOUTH-CENTRAL INDIANA WEDDING GUIDE By Connie Shakalis Photography by Into the Dark O n a perfect Autumn day, Dianna Carter Anderson, completed her trip — accompanied by her dog and dad — down the aisle. Dianna, her groom, Keith, and all of the family and friends involved in the wedding work full time, so she started her plan roughly seven months before the wedding day, this past October 13. The legal ceremony came first, at the Nashville, IN courthouse in June, with a second ceremony and a reception for 100 to follow in four months. She chose not to hire a professional wedding planner so was lucky to have acquaintances generous with their time and talents. Her hair dresser - Ashley Carter at Hair Techniques Salon & Spa - is a close friend, and the caterers, Darren “Catfish” and Michelle Platter, at the Pickled Platter, are friends as well. Dianna bought her dress off-the- rack, on a surprise shopping trip with Mom, loving the intricate woodsy look of the lace. The dress was several sizes too large, but after being custom tailored by Margaret Fette at the Tailored Fit. was just perfect.. . Help came too from Dianna’s four bridesmaids and Keith’s four Groomsmen. For Dianna, the key to Bridal success was the many helpers She already knew. “I had a great team of people willing to do what I wanted,” she said over the phone. Her little sister took charge of Ragnarok, the dog that helped walk Dianna down the aisle, and others assembled a bounce house and yard games for the children in attendance. Wisely, Anderson planned on not one but a pair of flower girls, so when the littlest-one got cranky the nine- year-old performed double duty.
