WildLife Group
of the SAVA
Letter
from the chairman
Dear Member,
The year has started with a flurry of activity in terms
of Wildlife Group (WG) matters. First and foremost we
would like to welcome V-Tech as our first ever Gold
Sponsor, and thank them for their invaluable support
of the WG! We look forward to a successful year of
partnership with you. You can find the first of V-Tech’s
adverts on page 8, as well as on the website. Please
do support them.
There is also an announcement regarding the WG
AGM which will take place at 16h00 on Saturday, 8
March 2014, at Stone Cradle (page 2). As always, we
will be asking for committee nominations for the next
term, so please contact a current committee member
if you are interested in standing for the committee, or
wish to nominate someone. There will be a number of
portfolios being vacated. A KEY aspect here is that you

than find yourself in a position where you are unable
to contribute to the functioning of the committee
because this puts immense pressure on the remaining
committee members.
On page 9 you will find the advert for the WG
congress to be held on 7 & 8 March at Stone Cradle. If
you plan to attend, don’t delay, register now to make
the most of the early bird saving, which is significant.
The first WG Immobilisation course to be hosted
in conjunction with SAN Parks, will run at Mokala
National Park near Kimberley from 9-15 March and
you can find out more about this on page 6. If you
And here we are, fast heading towards the end of
January 2014 already! I trust the year has started well
for all of you and would like to take this opportunity to
wish you and your loved ones a happy, successful and
richly Blessed 2014! I hope you all had a c
