Letter from the chairman
Dear Colleagues ,
I do not think any of us could have predicted this year . So , with Covid-19 been declared a pandemic on the 11th of March 2020 our world was turned upside down . Now we start our meeting with “ Can you hear me ?” and sign our emails with please stay safe . Luckily veterinary service was declared an essential service , so we were able to assist animals and clients with urgent needs right through the pandemic . Still everything was chaotic from home schooling kids to being unable to leave the province for work or pleasure . The economy has been badly affected with job losses and loss of income across all sectors . But as a whole South Africa is on the road to recovery and international flights are resuming . This year ’ s veterinary students will be able to graduate all by a little later than usual . Let ’ s hope that we stay safe and return to a new normal .
