HOOKED ON THOUGHTS WINNING THE HOLE SHOT President John Robert Well, that was a big success! ____ Hooked Up’s first issue hit smartphones and computers across the country to rave reviews. We expected folks would like it, but I have to admit, we were pleasantly caught off guard by the amount of gracious feedback we’ve been getting. So, now that the bar has been set so high, I guess the pressure is on to deliver again. I hope we’ve done just that. Our goal is to entertain and educate the fishing community, so that time spent on the water is both fun and efficient, while still being sensitive to the needs of our delicate ecosystems. Our second release should prove to do just that. In it you’ll find well-written how-to’s from some of the most accomplished writers in our industry. Everything from how to pull big bass out of the hydrillachoked sections of your favorite lake, to an in-depth discussion about the often forgotten American shad run that is about to hit the south. Also, in an effort to recognize those who allow us to decorate our off-water worlds with colorful reminders of our passion, we’ve included a thorough Q&A with one of our sports’ most fascinating and talented marine artists. And even though Hooked Up proudly admits to a strong Florida-based content percentage, we know you want to explore new, exotic destinations with bold fish that have yet to grow cautious around well-placed lures. So, with Cuba becoming increasingly easy to visit, we’ve presented you with a beautiful and tempting piece on Cayo Cruz. Love to fish, but don’t have a boat? We’ve got you covered with sure-fire methods for having a great time while fishing right off the beach. These, and much more, are right at your fingertips. Enjoy! ***** As we enter into the holiday season, we have some scheduling changes we’d like to announce. This December’s issue will be a single-month issue. The reason for this is two fold. First, it allows us to literally pack it with giftbuying ideas by dedicating a massive amount of pages to gear and newly released products. Second, it allows us to switch over to a more logical bi-monthly calendar, which consists of grouping January and February together, and then March and April, and so on. It’s simply more comfortable and easier to work with on many levels. That being said, we hope you learn a lot from this issue, but also remember to keep an eye out for the big Gift Guide issue coming December 1st. The beachgoers and anglers on your list will love you for it!
