Honors College Art & Science of Emotions Fall 2017 (12:00 p.m.) Happiness Group Completed Project | Page 3

Dear Reader, This journal is a compilation of work to illustrate the importance of happiness in our lives. It includes a little information about the authors, the methodology they took to get to this information, their inspiration for creating the work, the story itself, and a final adieu at the end. This work is important for all to read because it highlights the dark reality of our world: we are far more interested in material comfort than honest, pure happiness. While that may sound harsh, the truth cannot be silenced. As a society, Americans today are far more likely to follow the path of materialism than to take time to ap- preciate the beauty and grace of nature. This results in issues such as pollu- tion, over-industrialization, and a lack of person-to-person contact. In order to halt and potentially reverse these issues, people must realize the gravity and reality of their lifestyles. Only then will we be able to change our focus and change the world. Therefore, it is relevant information for everyone today to read our journal because it refocuses the reader on what is truly important in life: the people around us, the beauty that surrounds us, and the love between us. Sincerely, Hunter White, Jacob Bustamante, Evan Oswald, Spencer Sharp, Theresa Raths, Mason Turner, and Jacob Kromberg 3
