HISTORICAL SITES AND TRADITIONS
Although surrounded by glamourous skyscrapers, amazing historical sites and culture relics play a vital role in
the Greater Bay Area.
Strolling in the Historic Center of Macau, a World Cultural Heritage, you will hear the harmonious
conversation of China and the Western from these oldest and largest buildings with co-existing Chinese and
Western architecture characteristics,
Kaiping Diaolou and Villages, another World Cultural Heritage, is perfect for exploring the history of
overseas Chinese in the 18th and 19 th centuries.
Traditional rituals and celebrations are well preserved. People perform lion dance during the Chinese New
Year to bring good fortune. Families reunion on the Mid-Autumn Festival to enjoy egg yok moon cakes
while admiring the full moon. People celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival with dragon boat racing and eating
zongzi.
A TYPICAL DAY FOR KIDS
An 8-year-old’s typical day will be like this.
After a healthy breakfast, my driverless car takes me to a golf course for a 45-minute practice. When I
arrive at school, my study will start with a Chinese professor from Zhongshan University giving a Madarin
lecture on Li Bai and Traditional Tang Poems. Next, I will do an online self-taught math course on
Internet, and then discuss Shakespeare with my English teacher, a PHD from Oxford. After lunch, I might
have a virtual trip either to Mars or Xi’an, the Capital City of Tang Dynasty in Ancient China. Finally, I
can finish school with a show and tell on the 3D print of my art design. Sometimes after school, I have to
practice Kung-fu or piano. But luckily, we have no-homework and no-after-school-tutoring rules, and I
only go to school four days a week.
“In 20 years, the knowledge we learn today may be obsolete, the popular jobs may be taken by robots, so
how can we prepare for the unknown future?” This question that our Headmaster always asks is probably
the only “homework” I need to solve.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the Greater Bay Area is a thriving and vigorous area where Chinese meets Western, and past
connects with future. It may well become great, but the question is, will it become the greatest in the
world?
